A random look at 2012 (to make up for the fact that I made 0 posts in 2012), maybe this year I'll do better:

Pictures of the red, now brown, barn renovation. Hey guys want to come over on a 100 degree day and help me replace all the roof and siding on my barn? Amazingly, they said yes. Some day, I am going to get a call.... "remember that time..." I will.
Some people may want to know what a 50 lb Turkey looks like... well, these pictures aren't accurate because he is two months younger:

Our kittens...Becca adopted a kitten off the road at 2 days old. Kibbles taught Tom Kitten everything a good barn cat should know, and he had a good student. I have seen you little mouse, creeping all about the house...

Thomas’s First Day of Kindergarten
Thomas started Kindergarten at St. Theresa’s in Ashburn this week. On leaving for school, he looked back at our house and said:
“Good bye Daddy. Good bye Gregory. Good bye Peter. Good bye Amber. Good bye Kibbles. Good bye Tom Kitten. Good bye froggy. Good bye Charlie. Good bye Cookie. Good bye chickens. Good bye home sweet home.”
We had to remind him he wasn’t leaving for war, just half day kindergarten and he’d be back soon enough.

Kitchen Remodel

It was rough moving out (Jack/me stayed, eating pbj for dinner). Never new the kitchen had so much… stuff. But it was well worth it and opening the family room into the kitchen has added so much functionality, we are very happy with it. Just thought some before after photos would be worth it. Funny, but ever since doing remodel we haven’t watched HGTV. It looks so easy on TV. Our change was just as drastic though.

Summer Vacation…
It has been since March! Time flies, but finally I have made time to post some pictures to update everyone on what we have been up to:
Here are some pictures from our vacation to Litchfield Beach, S.C., the McIlvaine Family tradition. Becca and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary June 26. We have been very blessed. It was nice to celebrate it while on vacation!
The boys enjoyed spending time with all their cousins and we had a great time:

Even earlier than that, here are some pictures of Peter’s Baptism, we were very proud and delighted to have Jane and Richard as god parents to our son :
I have no pictures of our 4th of July party 
It’s amazing what they did. After 20 years, it was time to refinish the inside. Sand blasting in 90+ degree weather and replastering. In 4 days. When the water is out, it looks a lot deeper.
Filling it took 6 trucks of 5,000 gallons.
It has been a long time since it rained. But it wasn’t so long ago that we were cursing the rain:
Yes, that is the top of a four foot fence. All the wonderful trout we catch swimming down route 15. Cars were driving through nearly 2 feet of water in front of our house.
It wouldn’t have been summer without a trip out on Papa’s boat to catch some fish:
But most of all, we have been spending our time caring for God’s wonderful new gift to our family:
He seems happy to be here. Thomas and Gregory can’t get enough of him. The feeling is not always mutual.
